My Pain Is Not Funny
My pain is not funny I am not a toy for your amusement
You can say over and over again that it's only a joke
But I am not laughing
Poetry for people who could use a little kindness
My pain is not funny I am not a toy for your amusement
You can say over and over again that it's only a joke
But I am not laughing
It's astounding what a difference small changes can make reshaping my entire outlook on the rest of life
An endless struggle to love myself and who I am without finding someone else to do it for me
You can fly o'er the mountains, fly o'er the sea Little baby bird, won't you fly home to me You can see all the flowers, you can see all the bees Little baby bird, just come back home to me
sharing my light has always been easy carrying others smiling and supporting crafting just the right words to brighten their hard days
From the moment I held you I loved you with all my heart I promised that I'd do my best Even though I was so lost
The ones who are there for EVERYONE are the ones most likely to forget
that the person who needs their love the most is THEM
We can hear them laughing For me, it was a lifetime ago For you, it's happening right now
There are no actions you can take no choices you can make no words you can say no games you can play
That will invalidate how you feel
When I cry I don't need you to fix it I don't need to be told what to do I don't need someone to make it about them
