Allow Your Mistakes to Help You
We all mess up We’ve all done something wrong And when we hurt someone the pain digs in and stays for very long
Poetry for people who could use a little kindness
We all mess up We’ve all done something wrong And when we hurt someone the pain digs in and stays for very long
When I got sick You could tell And sat with me Until I felt better
When someone was hurt You could tell And kept an eye on them In case they needed help
When I felt sad You could tell And gave me kisses Until I smiled
When I needed you You could tell And you were there for me Until the very end
Nurse Jai
When the world is dark closing in with a heart of stone I want you to remember that I’m here You are never alone
When I was asked to care for you I didn't think I'd be able to I had a lot going on But I still couldn't say no
You were excited or sleeping There was no in between Even when your energy was too much I still couldn't say no
For the innumerable times when you were there Exactly when I needed a friend Cuddling me when I was sad or sick I'm so glad I said yes
Even though you're gone And there's a hole in my life I look back on our time with love and joy Forever grateful that I said yes
The Happiest Puppers
As some of you are aware, my dog Jai (rhymes with Sky) passed away on Halloween. Saying he was an important part of my life doesn't begin to describe him, so I wanted to post about him here.
It’s easy to run away It’s hard to stand up and speak Finding shelter feels safer Even when it makes you feel weak
We're told all our life That the rain is miserable and dreary That no one really loves her Of her, we're supposed to be weary
You made a friend You grew close together Spending so much time living your lives with one another
Denali Siriesco will be performing live at Junction 361 in Fairport on November 3rd from 7-9pm. I will be opening for her with some of my poetry! I hope you all get a chance to come by for a lovely time!
Update: I'm not able to make it, but I hope you all go and see Denali perform!
I know you're beautiful even though you don't believe it
I know you're worth it even when you don't feel like it
