If you've always wanted to share something out loud in a safe space but have been too nervous, now's your chance. Come and listen to other people, or share your own story. Rubber Duck Open Mic gives you five minutes to quietly share anything in a safe space. Doors open at 6pm, and sharing goes from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Tickets are a suggested $10, but no one will be turned away from lack of funds. We only ask that you be respectful to others. I'm so excited about hosting this after the success of Queer Voices last month. This will hopefully be a monthly event to which all are welcome. Muck Duck's new Rubber Duck Open Mic is a chance for anyone to share anything. Whoever holds the rubber duck has the floor (or stage if you want it). Whether poetry, music, or just a story from your day, anything you can share (not too loudly) in five minutes. Queer Voices isn't an open mic. Same time, same place, but just me and two other performers. The event page, including tickets, is here. On June 6th, from 6-9pm EST, I will be hosting Muck Duck's Queer Voices Open Mic! The event will allow members of the queer community to get up and share stories, thoughts, jokes, songs, poems, anything they want. Many of us have been pushed down or silenced, so this is us doing our part to help raise up those voices. Allies are welcome to attend, but not to speak. Please leave that to those of us that have been unable to have a platform. But you can help by spreading the word and coming by to hear from your queer friends. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two.
