Step by Step, Day by Day

This journey has been so long It's thrown twists and turns at me I thought I was near the end but when I got through the weeds I found another path stretching ahead of me

I chose this path I didn't know it'd be this long but I can't turn around now so all I can do is take it one step at a time

Step by step Day by day I'll reach the end of this path The sky seems dark now but soon, it'll clear up

And the best part is that I'm not walking alone there are so many people walking alongside me holding my hand so I don't need to be scared

So step by step day by day and hand in hand I'll keep walking this path until it opens up to bright, blue skies

Life is rain Always gray clouds So bleak and miserable You can't enjoy it like this But don't worry I'll bring out the sunshine

I'll fold my hands Hope for a brighter day Close my eyes and dream I'll give it my all to be your sunshine girl

I'm glad to hear you're better Even if life's still a struggle I hope you know how clever you are Helping me to see that we can bring out the sunshine

I'll fold my hands show people a brighter day Close my eyes and dream Give it all to them so I can be their sunshine girl

I'm fading, but it's okay I can make a brighter world Where the sun shines all the time So don't cry, live your life And I'll give up mine so everyone can bask in the sunshine

I'll fold my hands Let myself fade away Close my eyes and dream Then the rain will finally stop and I'll be your sunshine girl

A World of Kindness

I want to be kind to offer others a hand without fear that they're using me

I want to be vulnerable to let others know they're not alone without worrying that others will use it against me

I want to be at peace unafraid of the world around me not wondering who it's safe to trust

This world doesn't exist yet but maybe one day, it will

One day We'll all love one another Share kindness without fear or attempting to gain something

One day We'll all trust one another feel safe together and know it's gonna be okay

One day, we'll get there

My Beautiful Sky

I know you can't hear me But I want to tell you What lies ahead For us

People won't understand you They'll label you as troublesome They'll keep telling you to try harder They'll make you angry because they think it's funny

They'll cast you out And drift away And you will feel like there's nowhere that you can belong

You'll twist yourself into a bizarre shape Not you, not anyone A perversion of what you think others want Never quite what you want to be

You're going to get tricked and betrayed Hurt and abused You'll end up feeling so hopelessly alone You're going to want to give up so many times Before you finally see what you've been missing

You're going to find the person inside you That you will love with all your heart A person you will proudly show on your outside every day, without reservation

You will embrace what you love Your interests, your passions And find the people that accept them That accept you

It's going to take a lot of pain A lot of loss, a lot of heartbreak But one day, you will know acceptance You will know belonging

You will hear your voice and love it You will see the real you in the mirror And finally be able to say without reservation or doubt

A Little Love

I was a broken toy Cast aside by so many people Whenever they'd pick me up, I'd smile and hope they'd accept me But they never did

Over time, I learned that I was no good to anyone No one wanted me I could only look forward to being thrown away

Then one day, you came along Picked me up and looked me over And said, “She's not broken, She just needs a little love.”

You took me home You cared for me and loved me And showed me that I wasn't broken That all those other people were wrong I did just need a little love

It might be a long time before I really believe it but we've got plenty of time So thank you for giving me A little love
