I’d forgotten how hard you had it Losing every one of your gambits Walking through an endless fog Fear dragging you down into the bog

I’d forgotten how alone you felt Hiding from all the pain life dealt Trying to laugh it all away Heedless of who or what got in the way

I’d forgotten how much you wanted to try How hard it was to learn to fly I’d forgotten all the good in you I’d forgotten that I used to be you
