Mistakes are inevitable You can’t avoid or escape them They are the foundation of your growth You are a flower, they are your stem

But some people will hold them against you Cling to them, grip tightly, fixate All they see is that one action To them, you will always be that mistake

But one mistake does not define you That isn’t who you are You’ve changed so much since then You’ve come so very far

It may be hard, but I hope you know That the past is not a cage to trap you inside but a pedestal on which to stand as you reach for your future bright
