We’ve seen what happens when people are so scared of what’s different, of what they don’t understand that they feel that the only way to deal with it is to turn to violence
One voice is small barely audible, practically invisible so when one voice speaks out it’s easy to ignore
It's hard to think about tomorrow When we're so busy surviving today But no matter how bad things get It's gonna be okay
We stand on a foundation Built of millions of voices Held together by trust in one another
It's been a long journey and though we don't know where it ends We're almost there I can feel it
Why must suffering exist? Why must love ones never return? Why must we endure hardship while those above us never learn?
I believe in my country That waving flag promises freedom And hope and opportunity A bright new future
Looking out the window There's life, moving, whirling about A never ending motion Like a kaleidoscope always turning Changing the world in small ways People come, people go Nothing stays the same for long Not even a microsecond
Remember when this started? This whole unending nightmare It began, and darkness fell We were all scared
