Stuck on the Outside
I try to get in I try to push past the walls keeping me stuck in the supporting cast
Poetry for people who could use a little kindness
I try to get in I try to push past the walls keeping me stuck in the supporting cast
A weight has fallen on my mind Strapped in, stopping me thinking I want to write joyous, uplifting words But sometimes, I simply can't
Bringing me comfort when I most need it Soft and warm, shielding me from a world so cold My eternal friends, always there You never judge, you never scold
I used to think that on one bright day all of my misery would simply go away
It's been so long I thought I was okay To go it alone But it wasn't okay
Up and down Side to side Life can be quite the ride
I know what it's like to feel like you don't belong To feel like you're the only one who doesn't know the words to the song
Lost in the dark it feels like no one's there But there's always someone Someone who cares
It's so easy to scream To stomp your feet To draw attention to yourself to storm and bleat
Includes:
Somewhere warm to hide under during a storm Someone to love when times are tough Something soft to cuddle when it's hard Some reason to keep going even when it's rough
