Why You Should Care
It's easy to look at suffering And say “It's not my problem” Because it's safer not to get involved
Poetry for people who could use a little kindness
It's easy to look at suffering And say “It's not my problem” Because it's safer not to get involved
It's easier to pin someone down than to trust that they'll stay when you ask The easy way gives them no chance to resist but it only does harm, no good
I cannot understand the life you've lived how my world looks to you what you go through every day
I used to think there was something wrong with me I couldn't connect, couldn't understand What are they talking about?
You scrub and you scrub Hunting for any spots you missed After a time, you're satisfied That you got them all
Even though you're far away And I won't see you soon I want you to know now That I'm thinking about you
Chirp chirp chirp A soft breeze Caressing wet grass The smell of fresh rain in the air
Time's up, I've got to go I wish I didn't have to, but I know that if I don't leave now, I'll be late Though I'm tired, I can't afford to wait
We sit down together No work today Classes are long since over We can talk and laugh together
When you're falling down When all hope is gone And you can't carry on Look up and remember these words
