The Hard Way
I build a sand castle with dried sand even though it's hard and it crumbles at a touch
It'd be easy to go to the other beach the one with the damp, squishy sand but I read the forms they want me to sign and I didn't like them
I fly through the sky without any wings even though it's hard and I keep falling
It'd be easy to get wings from those builders the ones with sturdy, beautiful wings but they can hear and see me when I use the wings And I didn't agree to that
I sleep out in the cold without any shelter even though it's hard and I keep shivering
It'd be easy to go inside that cabin the one with the fireplace and warm beds but they asked me for a lot of information and I didn't want to give it to them
I could do things the easy way Maybe I'd be happier if I did But it doesn't feel right and the hard way does
