Swimming Upstream
I'm so tired of always swimming upstream I want to let the current sweep me away
I'm so tired of always swimming upstream I want to let the current sweep me away
The waves get higher crashing all around me I lost sight of the port amidst the raging sea
It's hard to think about tomorrow When we're so busy surviving today But no matter how bad things get It's gonna be okay
We stand on a foundation Built of millions of voices Held together by trust in one another
It's been a long journey and though we don't know where it ends We're almost there I can feel it
The world is full of ups and downs Sideways turns that throw you off balance The road you thought you knew turns unfamiliar Suddenly you're on your own Alone in the unknown, it's up to you to find the light
Why must suffering exist? Why must love ones never return? Why must we endure hardship while those above us never learn?
Looking out the window There's life, moving, whirling about A never ending motion Like a kaleidoscope always turning Changing the world in small ways People come, people go Nothing stays the same for long Not even a microsecond
You’re not like them Maybe you act a bit different Or you don’t look like everyone else Or they don’t understand you when you talk
Remember when this started? This whole unending nightmare It began, and darkness fell We were all scared
