When the rest of us are lost You help lead us to safety Calm in the face of turmoil Even when we are feeling empty

It’s hard to believe it So much hasn’t gone your way But I know that if you keep trying You are going to be okay

There’s so much love in me and I finally have a chance to share all these feelings inside There are finally people who care

Some friends will judge you Just for being yourself They’ll laugh and scorn And make you doubt yourself

Shaken, broken I felt so lost The light was fading and so was I

When an old toy breaks Even one I haven’t seen in years it feels like a part of me broke along with it

When you smile your whole face takes part so I know that it’s real And you’re truly happy

People made you feel like they were more important than you They talked over you, cut you off as though no one wanted to listen to you

You shared your light with someone special But they made you feel oh so terrible The support and love that you always bring so many people decided they didn’t need Now you’re here, sad and afraid Wishing so badly that they’d all stayed I can’t understand why people pushed you away I know it hurt you, but anyway I guess that means there’s more of you for me
